Interim Executive

Matt Loeb, CGEIT, CAE, FASAE, is a digitally savvy, strategic and results-oriented CEO, Board Director, and executive advisor with over 25 years of global experience in the nonprofit sector. He is currently Principal of Optimal Performance Seekers, LLC, working primarily with select nonprofit organizations and their executive leadership teams to build and mature organizational capabilities and processes that improve their business performance and achieve their desired business outcomes and societal impact in a manner that is financially sustainable for the longer-term.

Most recently Matt served as the CEO of ISACA, a business technology association serving 11,000 companies and 165,000 member and certified professionals in 190 countries worldwide. His four-year tenure was highlighted by a business transformation resulting in financial growth of 77% with annual top-line revenues increasing from $43M to $76M.  His key accomplishments include: the development and deployment of the technology industry’s first patented enterprise-wide cybersecurity assessment providing security assurance to Boards and C-Suites of their organization’s resilience to cyber-attack; the industry's first vendor-neutral, performance-based cybersecurity training and certification program aimed at increasing the number of cyber security professionals and maintaining their skill set to combat the rapidly changing threat landscape and expanding attack surfaces; the expansion of ISACA’s global reach into Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East while building new product management, business development, public affairs and government relations capabilities to enhance overall customer and stakeholder experience. 

Prior to joining ISACA, Matt was Staff Executive for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Executive Director (CEO) of the IEEE Foundation. Their he worked closely with the Board of Directors to identify four core strategies, transition IEEE into digital publishing and related business models, pioneer its global expansion in Asia, Europe and Africa, and rejuvenate IEEE’s contributions towards uplifting the human condition leveraging philanthropy. During his two decades of service, IEEE’s annual budget increased from $110M to over $460M.

His demonstrated expertise is in governance, executive leadership, corporate development (including talent acquisition), enterprise strategy/digital business model evolution, product development, global business operations, and acquisitions.

Matt currently serves on the Excelsior College (NY) Board of Trustees, the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Board of Directors. He also serves on the Board of Advisors for Knimbus, Pvt. Ltd. in the publishing sector and Lionrock Recovery in the health care sector.  He has previously as non-executive Chair of the CMMI Institute, on the ISACA Board of Directors and on two education foundations in Montgomery Township, NJ and Tustin, CA.  

Matt is a Board Leadership Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), that also recognized him in 2016 as one of the top 100 Directors in the US. He is a Fellow of ASAE and a Certified Association Executive (CAE). He is also a senior member of IEEE, and a member of ISACA where he is certified in the Governance of Enterprise Information and Technology (CGEIT).
