At TMC, we see the executive transition process as an opportunity for organizational change. We provide both excellence in association management (content) and skill in planning and implementing organizational change (process). TMC gives the Board the peace of mind that the organization will be well managed and the time to consider where the organization is, where it wants to go, and what kind of executive it needs to help get there. We have been through these processes many times, and we know how to turn these "crises" into successful opportunities. Most of our engagements have been triggered by the departure of an executive or some other event that has thrown the organization into a difficult period of change and transition. We see these transitions as opportunities for assessing operational systems and making improvements. The purpose of such an assessment should not be to place blame, but rather to find solutions to problems that can be implemented before the new executive comes aboard. Problems that do not lend themselves to immediate solution should be identified and framed for future work by the new executive. Using such a process-and often simply thinking about the executive transition as a time for growth and positive change-can breathe new energy into the association. Over the years, TMC has developed strategies, processes and procedures to support
organizational transition both by providing excellence in operations management
and by dealing effectively with the human side of change in organizations.
The hallmark of our executive transition services is our ability to integrate
effective association management with skills in organization development.
We are sensitive to the impact that an executive departure can have on
an organization, and we help the staff and board focus on the task at
hand. |
