Social entrepreneur and humanitarian Mark Davis Named Yoga Alliance President/CEO, Replacing Interim
A leader in the Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability industry (LOHAS) and a social entrepreneur and humanitarian with over twenty years experience leading private and social sector organizations, Mark has managed businesses in twenty-one countries and created strategic alliances with the world’s largest non-governmental organizations (NGO’s). Since 2000, Mark has been a Hesselbein Fellow with the Leader to Leader Institute (formerly The Peter F. Drucker Foundation for Nonprofit Management) in New York. As a Fellow he works at the forefront to influence the evolution of leadership practices around the world. Most recently, Mark was an advisor to the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Global Social Responsibility Summi. He is also the founder and president of SRL Partners, a sustainability, social responsibility and leadership consulting practice.
While CEO of The Organic Center, Mark raised $4 million to fund nutritional research on organic food and was responsible for publishing Core Truths, the first definitive book on the nutritional benefits of organic food. As COO of Earth Conservation Corps, he developed a revitalization plan for Southeast Washington, D.C. and co-chaired Department of Transportation Secretary Rodney Slater's Anacostia Riverwalk initiative. He has also authored for President Clinton, Cabinet Secretaries and Mrs. Robert F. Kennedy.
