Men Can Stop Rape, Inc. Appoints Interim Executive Director
WASHINGTON, DC “ Men Can Stop Rape, Inc. (MCSR), nationally renowned for its gender violence prevention messaging and programming for male teens, is pleased to announce David Lorms as the interim Executive Director. Mr. Lorms brings over 30 years of broad experience at state and national levels to the position.
As a seasoned professional with proven capabilities in volunteer leadership development, member engagement, strategic planning, and component relations, Mr. Lorms will help guide the organization through a transitional period. "We are excited to have David's expert assistance as we shift our attention to a national search for a new president and CEO," ť said Heather Peeler, Chair for the MCSR Board of Directors. Mr. Lorms recently provided interim leadership to the Yoga Alliance, a national certification organization, and has held senior positions with American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Autism Society of America, and American Heart Association.
He earned his Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) in 1991 and is still active with ASAE, serving on the Component Relations Section Council, consultant task force, and steering committee for social responsibility. Additionally, he serves on the board of Directors for Beacon House – a DC, community-based non-profit bringing educational opportunities to inner city at-risk children. Mr. Lorms routinely presents at national and local conferences and meetings on association management issues.
