Washington, DC – Todd N. Wurschmidt, PhD, CAE, CFRE has joined Transition Management Consulting, Inc. (TMC) as an independently affiliated consultant who will provide interim executive management services throughout the US.

"Todd has an excellent and unique background in executive management in associations and foundations where he has been an entrepreneur, innovator, change agent, and problem-solver for over 20 years."

In addition to Todd's many day-to-day accomplishments, of special note he was instrumental in securing $21 million in federal technology grants, which created the US's largest statewide information sharing network of over 750 public safety agencies and 45 private vendor companies; and initiated a pilot for the country's largest statewide interoperable data/text communication system.

He also led the development of an international exchange program with national, state, and local delegations from Turkey, London, Dubai, Jordan, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Bahrain, and the Brazilian state of Ceara and city of Fortaleza. This program helped Ohio law enforcement officers gain invaluable insight into addressing and responding to domestic security issues while providing the international partners with information on democratic and community policing.

During an association career spanning several decades, Todd served as CEO of the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police, Law Enforcement Foundation, and Ohio Fire Chiefs Association, as well as serving on a pro-bono basis as CEO of the D.A.R.E. Association of Ohio, Ohio School Resource Officers Association, and Ohio Crime Prevention Association.

Todd has excellent professional skills in strategic planning, volunteer and staff team building, fundraising, product development and launch, promoting public-private-nonprofit partnerships, and successfully managing organizational reengineering and turnaround opportunities.

Todd earned his Doctorate of Philosophy in Sociology with an emphasis on community development and diffusion of innovations, a Masters of Science degree in social sciences, and a Bachelors of Science degree in the biological sciences, all from The Ohio State University (OSU) in Columbus, Ohio.

In addition to his association responsibilities, Todd served as Adjunct Assistant Professor at OSU from 1995-2002, where he designed and delivered a graduate level course entitled, Leadership for Non-Profit Associations.

In his spare time, Todd continues his love of learning by studying Spanish, French, and Six Sigma, a method of process improvement. In 2008, he earned a Certified Fundraising Professional (CFRE) designation from the Association of Fundraising Professionals and in 1986, he earned the designation of Certified Association Executive (CAE) from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).

As an Active Member, Todd remains actively involved with ASAE & The Center. He has held roles as an ASAE Board of Director, member of the CAE Commission, and chair of the ASAE University Studies Task Force. Currently, Todd is a member of the ASAE International Section Council, and serves as its liaison to the Association Advance America Committee.

Todd also belongs to the Association of Fundraising Professionals, American Management Association, Association Forum of Chicagoland, and the New York Society of Association Executives.

Todd lives in Plain City, Ohio with his longtime spouse, Suzanne Wurschmidt, a health and fitness enthusiast. They have two adult sons who live in New York City.
