Todd has worked with a number of organizations in transition; most recently with the US Soybean Board.
Over the past 20+ years, Todd has simultaneously led between three and five 501(c)(6), 501(c)(4), and 501(c)(3) nonprofits at the state, national and international levels.
Todd has excellent professional skills relating to: strategic planning, volunteer and staff team building, fundraising, program and product launching, promoting public-private-nonprofit partnerships, and successful reengineering and turnaround opportunities.
Some of his key accomplishments include:
- Instincts to identify and widely grow diverse non-dues revenues including: a 6 fold expansion in gross revenues; awarding of corporate, community, state and federal grants; developing of lucrative product and consulting services; initiating of 4-6 on-going annual campaign fund drives; and securing of special needs and planned gifts.
- Securing $21M in grant funding in the technology arena, permitting the architecting and operating of the U.S.'s largest statewide information sharing network of over 750 public safety agencies and 45 private vendor companies; and the piloting of the country's largest statewide interoperable data/text communication system.
- Involving countless business leaders, including CEOs of Fortune 500 Companies, in the philanthropic mission.
- Establishing international exchange relationships involving traveling to and hosting delegations from Turkey, London in U.K., Dubai in United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Bahrain, and Brazil's State of Ceara and City of Fortaleza.
From 1995-2002, Todd also served as Adjunct Assistant Professor at OSU, where he designed and taught a graduate level course entitled, “Leadership for Non-Profit Associations.
He is a Certified Association Executive (CAE), having earned the professional designation in 1986 from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). He is a member of ASAE, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, American Management Association, Association Forum of Chicagoland, and the New York Society of Association Executives.
Todd's roles with the ASAE included serving on the Board of Directors, CAE Commission, and chairing of the ASAE University Studies Task Force. Currently, Todd is a member of the ASAE International Section Council.
Todd earned his PhD from The Ohio State University (OSU) in 1992 in Sociology, Diffusion of Innovations, and Social Action Processes. He holds an undergraduate degree in biological sciences.
