Edward T. "Ed" Brenner is a seasoned association executive with over 25 years of experience in nonprofits. Ed has worked in all areas of association management, including membership, marketing, non-dues revenue, meetings, finance, human resources, grant administration and government relations and brings both hands-on and management experience to his assignments. He possesses excellent organizational skills and a talent for working with boards.
Ed has worked with a number of associations in transition where he has provided interim leadership, including the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, National Recreation and Parks Association, Marine Technology Society, and the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Prior to his work with Transition Management Consulting, Ed held senior level and executive positions with the American Association of Museums, the Community Associations Institute, the American Occupational Therapy Association, and the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists.
Ed is a long-time member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) where he earned his Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation and served on its Finance and Administration Section. He regularly speaks at national and regional conferences and seminars and has written on the subject of non-dues revenue.
Ed serves on boards and committees in other professional organizations, including Vice President of Membership for the National Capitol Area-Human Resources Association (NCA-HRA) and as the Secretary of the Board for Silk Painters International (SPIN).
Ed earned a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Maryland-College Park with an emphasis on organizational behavior and marketing. He also earned a Masters of Science in counseling and student personnel administration and a Bachelors of Arts in anthropology both from SUNY-Albany.
